ForeTV to bring further Workflow Benefits

The forthcoming enhancements to the workflow module of MSA Focus’ award winning broadcast management solution, ForeTV, will offer significant benefits to aid the streamlining of work processes within the busy environment of a TV station.

The new functionality takes advantage of the Microsoft .NET framework 3.5, utilising Windows Communication Foundation and Workflow Foundation to provide a comprehensive and flexible workflow solution. New Features will include:

Event Engine Service:

This is used to control the processing of all events that the workflow module is configured to monitor and action any associated events.

Workflow Engine Service:

By using this service to host workflows that have been actioned by the Event Engine separately, the ForeTV workflow module may be scaled horizontally (from a hardware point of view), as the load on the workflow module increases.

Event Engine Designer:

Comprehensive Event Engine designer, enabling users to precisely define the events they wish to monitor both within and external to ForeTV, and also define the sequence of events or workflows to action.

Workflow Designer:

Built on the popular Microsoft workflow designer tool, this provides the ability to produce workflow designs from simple information triggers to complex frameworks that automate multiple processes. This gives full and flexible control of the dynamic throughput of information to/from ForeTV, from the originating data elements that action a workflow to the import and export of underlying information within the ForeTV database.

Custom Elements:

Due to the flexibility of both the Event Engine designer, and workflow designer, discreet custom elements can be incorporated within these areas, to allow maximum flexibility in both the monitoring of events and the output from workflows. Such elements can range from simple work orders required for a multitude of day to day operations, to complex interfaces to Media Asset Management systems for example.

Monitoring:

To complement the array of functionality within these new areas, ForeTV now also provides a comprehensive monitoring service, allowing complete control over all user specific workflows from individual events through to more complex long running workflows that integrate with external systems such as Accounts packages, Media Asset Management and Automation.
