MSA Focus marks US debut of ForeTV and first installations

MSA Focusis to reveal the industry's most advanced automated management system for TV revenue available for purchase the first time in the US at NAB2007.

The broadcast management specialist is to demonstrate ForeTV and announce its first installations aroung the globe plus advanced material exchange format (MXF) ingest capabilities in partnership with OpenCube Technologies.

ForeTV is a next-generation traffic & billing suite, which manages income from all broadcast sources including advertising, sponsorship, iTV, PPV, VOD, NVOD, IPTV, SVOD, and related merchandise. Installations scheduled to go live in the next four weeks include a US-owned network in Latin America, a playout centre in Singapore and IPTV stations in Northern Europe and Asia.

ForeTV also incorporates OpenCube Technologies' Toolkit, which is designed specifically to handle industry-standard interface format MXF. With the addition of the OpenCube technology, ForeTV represents the business solution behind broadcast.

"In pracrical terms, delivering VOD means providing multiple information files, such as content itself, a tect synopsis, EPG information, cast details, audio, artwork and metadata" says MSA Focus MD MArk Evans. "All of this must be done as efficiently as possible and then accounted for in the back office. ForeTV already made a shift from proprietary software to an industry-standard Visual Studio .NET platform so the addition of MXF capabilities is a natural step."

In addition to adverts and programmes, ForeTV manages revenues for promotions, interactive elements and secondary events such as sponsors' logos.
